About UsBellissimo Restaurant is owned by Omar Lavayen and Mary Killay Lavayen. Omar has been the Executive Chef at Bellissimo since 2004 and the couple became owners in 2009. The restaurant has been rated highly consistently by Northern Virginia Magazine, The Washington Post and the Fairfax Connection newspapers. Bellissimo Restaurant is a historic building that was originally owned by Giovanni Cocciante, a veteran of Old Cantina D' Italia in Washington, DC. It changed hands in 2004 and was owned for a time by Samira Hradsky of Food Unites the World Cooking School, Paris, France.

What our patrons say ...I ate there with a friend a little while ago and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Menu Gastronomico which is basically where you let the chef decide your 5 course meal. I am so glad I did this, because I would have probably not ordered what was brought to me Ð and I loved all of it!! The fennel & carrot soup was amazing along with the filet, fennel salad, pasta, and desserts. Omar is an excellent chef and his wife Mary was the most gracious host. This is truly a unique dinning experience, and I didn't have to go to DC to find it. It's so hard finding unique and great restaurants in northern Virginia as I have tried many. I will definitely return, and if there were a star system here I would give them 5! August 2010 —Our family wanted to tell you again that we thoroughly enjoyed our celebration dinner at your restaurant last night. What a discovery! Gourmet food, beautiful presentation, exceptional service and a tranquil, tasteful atmosphere. We do not have to go to D.C. for special occasions anymore. So close to home without the traffic hassle. And easy parking!!! Thank you for your graciousness. Looking forward to an encore. July 2010 —I had to pick an exceptional restaurant for my Uncle and Aunt and My cousin's family visiting for one nite on a trip...Somebody planted the name Bellisimo in my brain some time ago...Found out who that was...It was a very, very picky friend...He gave me a thumbs up immediately after I mentioned "Have you ever been to Belisimo's?" which means it's very very good... Well it was an absolutely great experience and dining pleasure...We felt extremely welcome and that we were going to get some very, very good food....That we did...My relatives just absolutely thought their entree's were delicious and said that I made the best selection of a restaurant to get family together...We're separated by 400 miles and many, many months before we see each other... Thank You Bellissimo for treating me and my Family so graciously and feeding us some incredibly delicious entree's....
